I'm still in the process of buying a foxbody, and this has a lot of good info on what year is the best too look for and why. The rest of the information looks very good, some of it is a bit dated (especially the computer section) but overall its good.

Editorial Review :: The Mustang Performance Handbook is the most comprehensive resource available on how to modify the third-generation Mustang for all levels of performance, from mild street to amateur drag racing and road racing. Modifications range from simple bolt-ons to all-out chassis construction. Over 400 photos and drawings.

High-Performance Mustang Builder's Guide 1994-2004 (S-a Design)

To start with, this is my first mustang. I've had it now for 1 1/2 years, and having so much fun with it, I now needed more. I got lost on the forums, and tired of getting bashed for asking questions. Spent hours getting no where. Within the first few hours of reading this book, I now know where I'm headed and what I need to do to make my GT into a street and track car, and now the things I read online make sence. Great resource in my opinion. I highly recommend this book.

Editorial Review ::
High-performance '94-'04 Mustangs represent the high-water mark for late- model Mustang enthusiasts. From the '94-'95s with the 5.0L, through the '96-'04 models with the 2- and 4-valve 4.6Ls, to the Bullitt, Mach 1, and factory supercharged '03-'04 Cobras - never before has such a range of highly modifiable performance cars been available. These Mustangs were amazing performers straight from the factory, but they can be even better with the right combination of performance parts. Regardless of which '94-'04 Mustang you start with, the availability of high- performance parts is unparalleled. You can build your Mustang for drag racing, road racing, or improved street performance - and High- Performance Mustang Builder's Guide 1994-2004 will show you how! Author Sean Hyland uses over 300 photos to explain how to upgrade your Mustang's engine, suspension, chassis, transmission, rear end, brakes, and body. There's even a special chapter on getting active in various forms of organized racing.

The 5.0L Mustang Bolt-On Performance Guide (S-a Design)

I would have to say the book is disappointing. Although it does provide a fairly comprehensive list of after market performance parts available, it fails to rate them, and apply an appropriate application. This is the difficulty in modifying today's 5.0 mustang. With the proliferation of parts out there, and the false or exaggerated promises which many manufacturers make, it is can be very confusing trying to determine which part is best for your application. In my opinion, buying any modern 5.0 magazines and simply thumbing through the different parts supply outfits, should accomplish the same thing as this book.

Editorial Review :: Covering the most numerous Mustangs on the streets today (1973-1995), this work provides the Ford enthusiast with a comprehensive catalog of bolt-on performance parts designed to improve the already potent Mustang. Smith, a Ford collector himself, provides readers with details on induction and exhaust systems, transmissions, driveline, and suspension modifications, electronic modifications, and a reference/resource section where the reader can obtain additional information or purchase components.

Mustang Monthly contains something for every classic Mustang lover. From interior resotration and upgrades to Electrical system troubleshooting, this magazine contains tons of useful tips and tricks every month.

I've been a subscriber for less than a year, and I've already been able to replace brake lines, upgrade my rear end, and read about other Mustang projects to get ideas.

This is not a pure stock Mustang magazine. Rather, it is a nice mix of RESTOMOD and stock. I even read the ads.

Bottom line: If you're into classic Mustangs, this magazine is a must read.
