Hays 95-201 Street Strip Performance Clutch Kit, Mustang

Editorial Review :: Engineered to handle the increased horsepower and torque of a modified engine, these performance clutch kits are the answer to clutch problems in today's muscle cars that are equipped with turbos or nitrous systems. Each kit contains a high performance diaphragm pressure plate to retain the factory pedal pressure and a sintered metallic button style clutch disc to increase the coefficient of friction for reduced slippage and greater holding power. Part No. 95-201 utilizes a 10.5" diaphragm style pressure plate, with 1-1/16-10 spline. Application: Ford 1979-99 V8 5.0L/4.6L Mustang (exc. DOHC and '99 Cobra).

High-Performance Ford Mustang Buyer's Guide 1979-Present

Out of all of the Mustang Buyer's Guides I've read or own, this one by Travis Thompson is by far the most informative and enjoyable. The Guide not only gives great, accurate overviews of the 1979 thru 2005 Mustang models, but offers excellent insight into the particular issues and modifications that work well for each model. The guide includes all of the high performance models, including the GT, SVO, Cobra, Mach 1, Roush and Saleen Mustangs produced during this period.

As sort of a bonus, the guide also includes "How To's" on some of the more basic modifications, such as installing a short throw shifter, underdrive pulley, etc. The author also gives examples of real cars that have been modded. Finally, the guide is full of well-taken, color photographs that show the various body styles, interiors, and engine compartments of the different models.

The author obviously knows a lot about Mustangs, but seems to love these cars as well (as I do). This is definately one of the best Mustang books I've added to my collection recently, and certainly the best book of its kind. While I do hope it gets updated someday to include the 2006 thru 2010 models, it certainly covers most of the models anyone would consider acquiring and modifying right now.
