This book carries a wealth of information in regards to suspension setup and other details that can be utilized by almost any VW owner, however the majority of info in this book is based around the older 4 cyl engines such as the mk3 2.0 and the mk2 8v and 16v. It is a great reference when thinking about making performance modifications to your VW and much of the info although generally focused around the older 4 cyl models, can definatley be utlized with more current engine designs as well. The author provides a lot of basic and very useful knowledge which is great regardless of how new or old your VW is. For the price these are going for these days it is definatley worth adding to your library of VW info.

This has been the worst purchase I have made. I did not find anything new at all in this book. The back cover promises the world but inside there is nothing at all. Carburetors are covered in one 5 line paragraph in the whole book without mention of who, how, what size, what brand NOTHING zero zip NADA
At one point he say that he wont recomend anything because some companies from his last book went under two years after its release Well thats great no recomendations SO why do I have a book with no suggestions. He says some heads are poor quality and are to be avoided uhhh which heads? what number or code, he DOESNT SAY. I really regret buying this book and if I must say something nice then I suggest you give it to a clueless person who will read it only for entertainment.

Editorial Review :: The G-Box functions by intercepting sensor outputs, modifying them, and outputting them to the vehicle's onboard computer. The G-Box is compatible with most popular performance upgrades such as aftermarket intake and exhaust systems, low boost forced induction systems, lightened and/or underdrive pulley kits, grounding kits, and many others. The G-Box enhances performance in multiple ways. First, it modifies signals being read by the ECU, causing an adjustment to the fuel curve, which is what creates the increase in horsepower and torque, as well as improves throttle response and shift speed. When the ECU sees these modified signals it provides a different set of fuel and ignition maps than it would under factory operating conditions. A second feature of the G-Box is it's "High-Heat Signal Correction." In short, when the engine compartment heats up, some sensors that relay pertinent fuel curve contingent information to the ECU begin to lose accuracy due to heat absorption into the sensor. The ECU then reads these incorrect signals, and leans out, or otherwise incorrectly alters the fuel curve, which hampers performance. These errors cannot be corrected from within the ECU, there must be an independent unit to correct these errors. The G-Box is designed to compensate for these signal errors.
